![]() ![]() ![]() The unsaturated shear strength of the soil-RHA mixtures were predicted using empirical relationships developed using SWCC. Atterberg limits test as well as soil water characteristic, shear strength and unconfined compressive strength test were carried out on the soil-RHA mixtures. The soil was treated with 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10% RHA content by weight of the soil. ![]() The untreated lateritic soil was classified as A-7-6 (15) using the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) system and CH using the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS). The lateritic soil sample used for this research work was collected from Shika village, Zaria LGA Kaduna state. ABSTRACT This project was carried out to investigate the unsaturated shear strength of lateritic soil treated with rice husk ash (RHA), using empirical relationship developed with soil water characteristic curve (SWCC). ![]()
